ELECTRA, TX (KAUZ) - An Electra man who has been deported at least six times is arrested by the Electra Police Department.
On Tuesday, April 18th, a police officer along with an animal control officer responded to a home in the 100 block of West Wharton to speak to someone in reference to an emaciated dog.
The owner of the dog identified himself as Raul E. Gonzalez. Officers later determined an SSN the suspect gave them came back to another person.
Electra PD then contacted the Texas Rangers because they believed this man was using false identifying information.
During an investigation, it was revealed that the man was Jorge Virgen-Gonzales, 32. According to an arrest affidavit, Virgen-Gonzales had been arrested at least three times by the Wichita Falls Police Department under the name Raul E. Gonzalez, which he said was his cousin.
He has also used that name when he was incarcerated in the Wichita County Jail and while signing Judicial Confessions pleading guilty to charges filed against him using his cousins' name.
A check through federal arrest databases revealed an Immigration and Customs Enforcement record with multiple entries for illegal re-entry under his real name.
Following the investigation, the Electra Police Department issued a warrant for Virgen-Gonzales' arrest for Tampering with a Governmental Record (2), Failure to Identify Giving False/Fictitious Information, and Fraud Use/Possession of Identifying Information. He also has an ICE Detainer hold.
Virgen-Gonzales is sitting in the Wichita County Jail on a $23,000 bond.
