Kids of all ages take part in Marksmen competition

WICHITA FALLS, TX -

Kids were up bright and early Saturday morning drawing their guns at the Northwest Texas Field and Stream at the 4H Marksmen competition.

Kids aging from 8 to 18 years old could try their hand at shooting in rifle and pistol competitions.
Brian Davis with the Northwest Texas Field and Stream Association said this is the only event like this in the area.

“When you see other kids doing what you enjoy doing and they all safely and having a good time and there is the competition and then you see people you haven't seen for a year it just a good event,” said Davis.  “Just watching these kids smile whether they shot good or not they're all smiling when they are done.”

Awards were given out to the best shooters the day.

Davis adds that the most important thing you can do is know gun safety.
