WICHITA FALLS, TX (KAUZ) -

The Plex Family Entertainment Center in Wichita Falls has been purchased by a group of local investors.

The group, headed up by the Patterson Family of Dealerships owner Harry Patterson, said major upgrades will start immediately.

The ownership will change officially on Tuesday.

The name of the entertainment center will become The Family Fun Zone.

Several renovations and repairs will begin immediately including a new maple wood skate floor, remodeled bathrooms, updated landscaping, and remodeled batting cages to name a few.

Officials said The Family Fun Zone is hoping to stay open throughout the construction and renovations.

"We are very excited about the major changes and turn-around we have planned for The Family Fun Zone, formerly The Plex. Our community needs a family-oriented entertainment venue that provides fun for all ages in a safe, clean and FUN atmosphere," Harry Patterson said in a statement.

Kenny and Melanie Nordeen, who have an extensive background in entertainment management, are going to take over as owners/operators.
