Unlocked door leads to assault, arrest in Wichita Falls

WICHITA FALLS, TX (KAUZ) - A man is arrested for Burglary of a Habitation after police said he entered an apartment and punched a man in the face.

Monday evening around 8:22 p.m. Wichita Falls Police were called out to a residence in the 1800 block of 11th Street in reference to as assault.

When officers arrived they spoke with the victim who said he and his roommate were relaxing and drinking in their apartment when Victor Palmer, 50, walked through the unlocked front door and punched the victim in the face.

The victim said he knew Palmer but that Palmer was not welcome in his home. The victim then told Palmer to leave.

Palmer refused and took the victim's beer and drank it, then threw it at the victim before eventually leaving.

Officers caught up with Palmer later that night and arrested him for Burglary of a Habitation with Intent to Commit Other Felony for entering a residence where he was not authorized to be.

Palmer is in the Wichita County Jail. A bond has not been set.
