WICHITA FALLS, TX (KAUZ) - An accident on Tuesday afternoon sent three adults and four children to the hospital and closed down a popular freeway.
Around 5:30 p.m. a sedan was experiencing problems with a tire and the driver was attempting to pull over on the right shoulder in the 2000 block of Kell West Freeway.
That is when officers said a Jeep hit the sedan from behind. Two people who were inside the Jeep were taken to the hospital. One by personal vehicle and the other by ambulance.
One adult and four children, ranging in ages of three to 16, who were inside the sedan, were taken to the hospital by ambulance.
The stretch of road between Taft Blvd. and Harrison St. was closed down for about 40 minutes while crews worked to clear the scene. WFPD officials said none of the injuries appeared to be life-threatening.
Traffic resumed to normal around 6:10 p.m. The accident is under investigation.
