Today will play out much like Thursday with summer heat and gusty south winds. A cold front near the Kansas/Oklahoma will sag south into the Red River valley this evening trigger thunderstorms overnight. Some storms will produce high winds and hail. This cold front will not have the temperature impact as last weekend when highs were only in the 80s last weekend. Saturday's high temperatures will be closer to 90 than 100. Rain chances will be only slight Sunday when highs will be in the mid and upper 90s. Next week starts hot with highs in the upper 90s. Independence Day comes with gusty south winds and a high near 98. Stray thunderstorms are possible Wednesday night.
