WICHITA FALLS, TX (KAUZ) - A graduation ceremony for the first session of the Junior Police Academy was held Friday afternoon at the Wichita Falls Public Library.
Students were given the opportunity to experience law enforcement firsthand through the program put on by the Wichita Falls Police Department.
Seventh and Eighth-grade students learned the basic functions of a working police department as well as had the chance to explore the idea of a career as an officer.
"I really enjoyed this class. I suggest anyone who's in the age range come in and participate in this class. You make a lot of friends. You learn a lot. You get to experience things that you may not have gotten to if you have not done this class," student Alyssa Moulton said.
About two dozens students participated in the free program.
