WICHITA FALLS, TX - Kids got to experience the thrill of racing downtown Sunday.
The downtown YMCA hosted its 9th annual soapbox derby.
The race started at the First Baptist church downtown on 9th street, and went down the hill to the finish line.
There were three races to take part in Saturday to fit every experience from beginner to advanced build your own soap box.
"It feels like you're going down like you're riding your bike," said Catalyna Moreno, who was won the race for the 2nd round of the soapbox derby.
"It feels like a roller coaster," said Luciano Silva, a first time racer.
"It was fun. My mom told me that it was going to be fun but I told her no, but I was wrong."
There were also bouncing houses and a car show for families to enjoy
Proceeds from the event are going to help fund scholarships for kids at the YMCA.
