Texas authorities searching for wanted sex offender

CORPUS CHRISTI, TX (KAUZ) -

Texas law enforcement officers need your help tracking down a wanted sex offender. 

Erasmo Zapata, 45, has been wanted since January of this year. In 2006, Zapata was convicted of two counts of aggravated sexual assault and one count of indecency with a child/sexual contact involving a 12-year-old girl. 

He received a 15-year prison sentence. Zapata stands five feet eleven inches tall and weighs 190 pounds. He has tattoos on his arms, shoulders, neck, left hand and chest. 

He was recently employed in the construction industry and may also be known by his nickname 'Eddie'. 

Zapata has ties to the Nueces and San Patricio counties, including the cities of Corpus Christi and Mathis.
