The weather story this week is another wave of heat building into the area. So far in 2017, Wichita Falls has only hit 100°F or higher three times. I expect to add to that this week with multiple days of temperatures near or at 100°. High pressure will also put rain chances near zero but can't completely rule out a stray shower or downpour during the afternoon or early evening this week. Highs will slowly creep towards the century mark by mid-week and with the humid air mass sticking around, heat index values will be above 100° most days this week. Today will be one of the "cooler" days with highs around 96°. Heat index values will be near 100°. By the end of the week, temperatures could be above 100°F but recent rains could keep temperatures a few degrees cooler than what models are predicting. Regardless, be sure to find ways to stay cool! this week!
