WICHITA FALLS, TX (KAUZ) - Construction continues on the Falls. It's expected to be completed and opened by the Hotter'N Hell Hundred in August.
Wichita Falls City Manager, Darron Leiker, said the bridge has been installed and the bridge deck has been poured and applied.
Leiker said the project is close to 75-percent complete.
"Now they are working on the trail connection piece of it," Leiker said. "So we're still optimistic that it will be open by Hotter'N Hell Hundred."
The old wooden bridge was 30-years-old and only 40-feet long and 5-feet wide. The new bridge is 55-feet long and 14-feet wide.
Leiker said he is excited to see the Falls when it is complete, and for the city to show it off during Hotter'N Hell.
