WICHITA FALLS, TX (KAUZ) -

UPDATE:

Wichita Falls police have identified the suspect as 34-year-old Lashenda Mitchell.  Police say Mitchell is facing a charge of aggravated assault, but other charges could be filed.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Two incidents on the east side of Wichita Falls on Thursday ended with one woman in the hospital and another in handcuffs.

Wichita Falls Police were called out to the 800 block of Flood Street in reference to a report of criminal mischief around 8:30 a.m.

When officers arrived on scene, they said two women were wielding golf clubs at each other, and they were damaging vehicles.

Police said one of the women was hit in the face with a brick by the other.  The injured woman was taken to the hospital to be treated for her injuries.

A separate, but related, altercation escalated at the intersection of Juarez Street and Humphreys Street around 11:00 a.m.

The call to police was similar in nature to the Flood Street call.  Officers said one of the women involved in the altercation on Flood Street and another woman were wielding golf clubs at each other at this location.

Police said the women were smashing windows with the golf clubs, and the pair had crashed their vehicles into each other.

At one point, there were more than 12 emergency units on the scene.  One woman was arrested for Aggravated Assault, accused of hitting a woman in the face with a brick earlier Thursday morning on Flood Street.

No names have been released at this time.
