Early morning house fire leaves Wichita Falls man injured

WICHITA FALLS, TX (KAUZ) - A Wichita Falls man is recovering following an early morning house fire on the city's southwest side.

Wichita Falls fire fighters responded to the call in the 4700 block of Catalina Drive just before 7 a.m. Tuesday morning.  When they arrived, they found a man hanging halfway out a window, trying to escape the blaze.

Authorities say the man was burned and taken to United Regional for treatment.

Fire officials were able to get the fire, which originated in the kitchen, under control within 10 minutes.

The cost of damages and the cause of the fire are both unknown at this time.
