Project Back to School is set for mid August

WICHITA FALLS, TX (KAUZ) -

Project Back to School is right around the corner. The Project Back to School Roundup is set for Saturday, August 12, from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm.

The family fun event gives children in Head Start through 12th grade in Wichita Falls the essential school supplies and services they need for the upcoming school year.

Free school supply kits and backpacks for WFISD and City View ISD students who qualify for the free and reduced lunch programs will be given out. 

Students at Burgess, Lamar, Scotland Park, Booker T. Washington and Zundy elementary schools will receive school supplies and backpacks at their school.

A majority of required school supplies will be provided and elementary students will receive a box of tissues while supplies last.

Head Start and Pre-K students will receive a backpack and crayons. There will also be community resource booths about school and community services, youth programs, assistance programs and more. 

There will be free giveaways, immunizations for eligible children, vision and dental screenings.

    The BBB is making a special effort to help small businesses in Wichita Falls and across the nation. Small business are targets of scams that the everyday person may not be. So, the BBB along with law enforcement agencies recently launched a new initiative called Operation Main Street to educate small business on how to protect themselves.
