WICHITA FALLS, TX (KAUZ) -

A man was rushed to the hospital following an accident in the area of Henry S Grace Freeway and Southwest Parkway on Tuesday evening.

Wichita Falls Police said around 6:30 pm a Ford Fusion was driving east bound on Southwest Parkway and attempting to take the loop that turns into Henry Grace Freeway when the driver lost control and had a minor accident.

The vehicle hit the inside guardrail. The passenger of the Ford Fusion got out of the car to check the damage.

A vehicle directly behind the Ford Fusion was able to swerve and miss the crash but a Chevy pickup did not see the crash in time and ran into the male passenger and the Ford Fusion.

The passenger was taken to United Regional with serious but non-life threatening injuries. No other significant injuries were reported.

The entire overpass, on-ramp and Southwest Parkway was shut down until crews could clear the scene. Drivers were encouraged to avoid the area.

The crash is still under investigation, however, police did say the rain and slick road conditions likely contributed.

The Wichita Falls Police Department and Wichita Falls Fire Department worked the scene.
