Traffic stop lands two behind bars in Wichita Falls

WICHITA FALLS, TX (KAUZ) - Two people from North Carolina are behind bars in Wichita County following the discovery of several pounds of marijuana during a traffic stop early Monday morning.

Around 3:00 am officers with the WFPD pulled over a vehicle in the 1000 block of Central Freeway for speeding.

When officers approached the vehicle they were able to smell the odor of marijuana coming from inside the car.

The driver, Jeffery Swain, 28, and passenger, Deena Sullivan, 34, got out of the vehicle. While talking to police, Swain told officers there was a green duffle bag in the trunk that had marijuana inside.

Officers found 13 vacuum sealed bags of marijuana that weighed 16.7 pounds combined. Marijuana candies and cannabis oil was also found in the amount of 171.20 grams.

Both Swain and Sullivan were arrested and taken to the Wichita County Jail and charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance.
