WICHITA FALLS, TX (KAUZ) - The Wichita Falls ISD Career Education Center is not the only school district project in the area. The district is also spending money to widen the street.
Hatton Rd. from U.S. 281 to the CEC is a two lane road. However, the construction is to expand the road to four lanes.
WFISD is spending just under $400,000 on the improvements, which will be reimbursed by the city.
The district is covering this project in hopes it will help alleviate traffic issues with so many vehicles coming in and out of the facility.
Pavement has been laid on one side of the road, but no additional lanes have been opened.
Newschannel 6 reached out to the school district to try and learn when the project is expected to be completed.
However, we were unable to get that information because it's all hands on deck to get ready for Tuesday's ribbon cutting of the CEC.
