Wichita County Truancy Manager announces he will run for Justice of the Peace

WICHITA FALLS, TX (KAUZ) -

Another candidate has put his name in the hat to run for Wichita County Justice of the Peace Precinct 1, Place 2 on Wednesday. 

Wichita County Truancy Case Manager James Hughes officially announced he is running for the position during a news conference on the second floor of the Wichita County Courthouse. Judge Mike Little announced his retirement two weeks ago. 

Hughes served under Judge Little for six years and has worked in the Wichita County Courthouse for 16 years in several positions. 

"Working in his office and for him dealing with civil cases and criminal cases and dealing with truancy just that experience alone in the day to day operations and justice of the peace, in what they do, has prepared me for this position," Hughes said

Before working under Judge Little, Hughes worked for the Wichita County Juvenile Probation Department for 10 years.
