WICHITA FALLS, TX - If you take a stroll around Lake Wichita Park, you will see something new. Friday morning, Wichita Falls workers put in a 6,000 pound flying fish sculpture.
It was built in Santa Fe New Mexico and brought to Wichita Falls Friday morning for inspectors to check. The point of the statue going in is to promote the new plans for Lake Wichita.
"The reason why we put it out here is for it to be by the lake," said Terry Points, park supervisor. "It will help promote the revitalization of the lake and it will be a good place for people to pull up and enjoy."
The team had the flying fish put in its permanent spot in an only a couple of hours.
