A Wichita Falls man is behind bars accused of breaking into a home and beating someone inside.

On Wednesday night around 11:15 p.m. officers with the WFPD were dispatched to a home in the 2000 block of Indian Heights in reference to a check welfare.

Police were told by dispatch the homeowner called 911 to report someone had forced entry into the house.

When officers arrived on scene they found a broken window and could hear someone yelling for help.

The found the victim bleeding from his head. The victim was pointing across the room to a man who was lying on the floor.

Officers detained and identified this man as William Dillard Muirhead, 46.

The victim told officers he heard broken glass coming from downstairs and called 911. While the victim was on the phone with dispatch, he said Muirhead came upstairs and began punching the victim in the face.
