WICHITA FALLS, TX (KAUZ) -

The Wichita Falls City Council passed a resolution to apply for a Defense Economic Adjustment Assistance grant for up to $5 million on Tuesday morning.

This funding would be for the main gate project at Sheppard Air Force Base. The project is expected to cost $5.2 to $5.7 million.

SAFB has secured close to $2.5 million for the project and is hoping funds from the grant and the 4A Board will cover the rest.
