WICHITA FALLS, TX (KAUZ) -

A stolen trailer, containing $5,000 worth of property, was recovered more than a month after it was taken.

In August, the Wichita Falls Police Department began an investigation into the burglary of the trailer from a business in the 2000 block of E. Scott Street.

Detectives identified the suspect as Cory Turkett, 44. The investigation also tied Turkett to another stolen trailer that was taken in the 2900 block of Sheppard Access Road in September.

It was discovered during the investigation of the first stolen trailer, that Turkett was attempting to sell a trailer that matched the description of the one stolen on Sheppard Access Road.

Detectives with the Property Crimes Unit and the Tactical Unit set up a meeting with Turkett to purchase the stolen trailer.

During the meeting, Turkett was arrested and the second stolen trailer was recovered.

Further investigation led to the recovery of a stolen trailer and 4-wheeler utility vehicle that was stolen from a location in Vernon.
