Crash in Wilbarger Co. kills 2

OKLAUNION, TX (KAUZ) -

The Department of Public Safety has confirmed two women died following an accident in Oklaunion late Wednesday morning.

Around 11:45 a.m. DPS Troopers were called out to the single vehicle crash on U.S. Highway 287. 

DPS officials said 2008 Ford pickup was traveling south when it crossed the cable barrier and struck a concrete overpass pillar head-on.

Officials said they do not know why the pickup left the roadway at this time. Road conditions were dry and both women were wearing their seatbelts. 

The women were from Tulia, TX. They were pronounced dead at the scene. The crash is still under investigation.
