RICHARDSON, TX (KAUZ) - The father of a missing North Texas toddler was arrested for child endangerment Saturday.
An amber alert was issued Saturday after Sherin Mathews was reported missing around 8 a.m.
According to an arrest affidavit, Wesley Mathews told police that he sent his daughter to stand by a tree outside their home at about 3 a.m that morning as punishment for not drinking her milk. When he returned 15 minutes later, Sherin was gone.
Mathews also told police that he knew coyotes had been seen in the alley where he sent his daughter.
The 3-year-old is Asian, 36" tall, weighs 22 lbs, and has black hair and brown eyes. She was last seen wearing a pink top, black pajama bottoms, and pink flip-flops.
