Firefighters honored at First National Bank

WICHITA FALLS, TX (KAUZ) -

Firefighters and first responders were honored with a special meal at First National Bank on Friday.

The community hamburger lunch featured a drawing for a free fire extinguisher and batteries for the 250 attendees.

Mayor Stephen Santellana also attended the event and declared Oct. 13 Firefighter and First Responder Appreciation Day.

"You always welcome being appreciated by anyone, much less you have your mayor and your city council and the people that come out," WFFD Assistant Fire Chief, Donald Hughes said.  "a proclamation like this means a lot to us. We're just glad to be here."

All donations stay in our community and go back to the Wichita Falls Fire Department.
