One dead following shooting in Wichita Falls

WICHITA FALLS, TX -

One person is dead after a shooting Saturday night in Wichita Falls.

Police told Newschannel6 around 9:40 p.m. Saturday, officers were called out to the 2300 block of Yale street.

When officers arrived, they were told Rufino Pacheco had been taken to United Regional by a private vehicle with a gunshot wound to his midsection.

Police said Pacheco drove to the 2300 block of Yale when a pickup truck drove up to the same location. He got out of his vehicle as well as a subject from the pickup truck. 

Police said the two began talking when a shot was fired from inside the pickup truck. The truck along with the two subjects then fled the scene.

Pacheco later died from his injuries at the hospital. No arrests have been made. Anyone with information is urged to call Wichita Falls Crime Stoppers at 940-322-9888
