WICHITA FALLS, TX (KAUZ) - Freshman midfielder Kelly Cannistra played a part in all three scores while capping off a Midwestern State rally with the game winner in the 58th minute to carry the 24th-ranked Mustangs to a 3-2 come-from-behind win over Texas Woman's Sunday afternoon at Stang Park.

Facing a 2-1 halftime deficit, Midwestern State (10-3-1, 5-2-1 LSC) began the second half with a sense of urgency with freshman Julia Orozco scoring her first career goal at the 46:36 mark to record the equalizer off assists from Cannistra and senior Destinee Williamson.

Cannistra lifted the Mustangs in front for the first time 12 minutes into the second half, weaving and fighting through the Texas Woman's (4-7-3, 1-5-2 LSC) defense before sending a shot past TWU keeper Maddie Vickroy for a 3-2 MSU advantage with her third goal of the season.

The Pioneers struck first in the contest Sunday with Allie Chapman lifting TWU to a 1-0 lead off a cross from Haley Ward just 5:20 into the match.

The momentum for TWU was short-lived as Williamson netted her team-best fifth goal of the season just 22 seconds later off a cross from Cannistra for the 1-1 score.

Midway through the first period, Chelsea Martin propelled TWU back in front with a rocket into the top right corner of the net to put the Pioneers ahead 2-1 at the break.
