WICHITA FALLS, TX (KAUZ) - Another 1-mile section of the Circle Hike and Bike Trail is now open for public use.
On Thursday, the City of Wichita Falls announced the section of the trail located in the Wichita Bluff Nature Area off of Seymour Highway was complete.
The new section continues from the Seymour Highway Trail parking lot easterly and has seven lookout spurs with views of the Wichita Falls Bluff Nature Area and Wichita River.
Two of the spurs have covered shelter. The project was designed by Tyson Traw. The project manager was Blane Boswell.
The total construction cost for the project was $1.3 million and was financed with city debt paid for by the 4B Sales Tax Corporation.
This section completes 20 miles of a planned 25-mile continuous trail system in the city. For more information, call the Parks Department at (940) 761-7491.
