WICHITA FALLS, TX (KAUZ) - One happy pup now has a yard where she can run and play thanks to a group of volunteers from the WFISD swim team.
The team was out Saturday morning helping the chain-off team from P.E.T.S. Low-Cost Spay and Neuter, build a fence for the family that lives there and their dog Abigail.
This is part of the teens make a difference day that had kids from all over Wichita Falls donating time to the non-profits in the Wichita Falls community.
This is the second year for the WFISD swim team to choose P.E.T.S. as their non-profit for teens to make a difference day.
"We enjoyed it last year so we decided it would be a good idea to come out here and help with building the fence for the dogs," said Brandon Malone, captain of the Rider High School swim team.
The swim teams also raised more than $650 dollars for the P.E.T.S organization.
P.E.T.S Low-cost Spay and Neuter dedicated this fence build in memory of their good friend, Gerald Hohfeld, a long time pets volunteer and chain off program participant.
