WICHITA FALLS, TX (KAUZ) - Our radio partners at Cumulus Broadcasting are reporting Russell Nettles, who was known as "The Firecracker King," has passed away.
According to Cumulus, Nettles died Tuesday night.
He had been selling fireworks for more than thirty years.
Over the years, he built the largest firework store in the area called "Russell's Fireworks Kingdom."
Nettles wanted everyone to know about firework safety by handing out pamphlets in his store.
According to social media, Nettles died from cancer.
He was 50 years old.
