UPDATE: Grass fire burns 45 to 50 acres in Archer County

ARCHER COUNTY, TX (KAUZ) -

Fire officials say a grass fire in Archer County burned about 45 to 50 acres of land Sunday afternoon.

Captain Richard Farmer, with the Bowman Fire Department, said the grass fire started around 3 p.m.on Lake Creek Road, just east of Highway 281 close to the Clay County line. 

Farmer said as of 5:20 p.m. the fire was contained. 

Bowman, Holliday, Lakeside City, Scotland, and Arrowhead Ranch Estates VFD all responded.

No injuries have been reported. 

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
