WICHITA COUNTY, TX (KAUZ) - More than 80 pounds of marijuana was discovered during a traffic stop on U.S. 287 South in Wichita County.
Around 1:28 p.m. on Saturday, the Wichita Co. K9 Interdiction Deputy and his partner Cane conducted a traffic stop on U.S. 287 South and Burnett Ranch Road.
According to the WCSO, the deputy observed several signs of criminal activity during the traffic stop.
The 64-year-driver gave deputies consent to search the vehicle. That search lead to the discovery of more than 80 pounds of high-grade marijuana hidden within the vehicle.
The driver was arrested and taken to the Wichita Co. Jail charged with Possession of Marijuana Over 50 Pounds/Under 2,000 Pounds which is a second-degree felony.
The estimated value of the marijuana is more than $360,000.
