Bowie Intermediate hosts Science Night

BOWIE, TX (KAUZ) -

Science is involved in so much of our everyday lives and students at Bowie Intermediate have been hard at work building projects based on science. Monday night the students got to show off their science projects to parents and visitors at science night. This is the 8th year that the school has showcased their projects built by 4th and 5th graders..Each student had 5 weeks to come up with an idea and take it through the Scientific Method..Experiments ranged from water filtration systems to homemade rockets and slime..

"I think they get an interest and love of science. When they see so many projects and see the scientists that come and present that that really just makes them feel excited about wanting to try those things later too," said 5th grade science teacher, Stella Fowler.

Businesses, the Bowie Police Department, students from Midwestern State, and North Central Texas College all came out to show the students how they use science in their education and jobs.
