AUSTIN, TX (KAUZ) - Prices at the gas pump are up this week in Texas. The statewide gas price average is $2.30 for a gallon of regular unleaded.
The price is five cents more than last week and 29 cents more than this time last year.
Drivers in El Paso are paying the most on average per gallon at $2.44 while drivers in San Antonio are paying the least at $2.21 per gallon.
The national average is $2.56. That price is six cents more than last week and 36 cents more than this time last year.
The latest demand measurements are the highest for the end of October since 2006 according to the Energy Information Administration.
Texas ranks fourth in the nation among states with the lowest gas prices.
