ARCHER CITY, TX (KAUZ) - Close to 300 people in Archer City celebrated Thanksgiving early Sunday with the annual Archer Service Center "Turkey Day and raffle."
The day started with their annual turkey meal for the folks center.
Items were then raffled off to some lucky ticket holders.
The center got the idea to hold the dinner a several years ago so that the community could come together to celebrate.
"It's a way for us to say to our community how much we appreciate them," said executive director for the center, Misty Cameron. "We serve them something good and makes their tummies full, and everyone seems happy to be able to socialize and get together."
Proceeds from Sunday's dinner and raffle will go back to the non-profit to continue serving the community.
All of the items raffled off were donated by members and businesses in the community.
