WICHITA FALLS, TX (KAUZ) - Faith Mission is encouraging the community to remember the needs of those less fortunate this holiday season.
This week is National Hunger and Homelessness Awareness week and Faith Mission's site director, Clay Kahler, said a lot of people are not aware of how large the homeless population is in Wichita Falls.
However, there are plenty of items the community can donate to Faith Mission that can help them stay warm.
Kahler said the holidays bring cold temperatures so they are always in need of coats.
"Sleeping bags are something that we are constantly going through. Insulated coveralls are fantastic, gloves, hats, socks," Kahler said. "If you stop and think about it if its cold and you have run to the car in the middle of the night..imagen sleeping out there."
He said financial donations are always best because that allows them to purchase everything they need but food and warm clothes donations are always welcome.
Another way the community can help this week is by supporting their resale store on Old Jacksboro Hwy.
