WICHITA FALLS, TX (KAUZ) - One Texoma dog put on his vest for the last time Saturday.
Kimbo has been apart of the K9 unit at the Wichita County Sheriff's Office for 8 years.
On Saturday, he officially retired.
People were able to go and thank Kimbo for all the service he has done over the years at his retirement party at Frank and Joe's Coffee House.
Kimbo's handler says this time has been bittersweet.
"This is the first public K9 retirement I've seen," said Josh Brown, Kimbo's handler.
"Obviously I'm excited for him as I would be a child, I've spent a lot of time with him."
A new dog is already following in Kimbo's paw prints.
K9 Tipp is the new dog for the Sheriff's office.
She has been on the streets of Wichita County for about 7 weeks.
