WICHITA FALLS, TX (KAUZ) - Thousands came out to watch the bright lights fill the streets of downtown Wichita Falls Saturday night.
Many event-goers said the 20th annual City Lights Parade made the town feel a lot like Christmas.
The cold weather brought out the jackets and sweatshirts but several parade attendees said it did not keep them from feeling jolly.
The temperatures also did not keep them off the road either, like Jackson Kelton who drove from Henrietta to attend the parade for the first time. He said the colorful show reminded him of one thing "Christmas and having a good time."
He was not the only first-timer.
Charles White and his family just moved from Indiana to Texoma. He said the parade was a great way to spend some bonding time together.
"It's awesome [the children] get to come out, play, listen to music and have fun," White said.
The event hosted by Downtown Proud, an organization working on revitalizing downtown Wichita Falls, even got Santa Claus to take time away from building toys to enjoy the festivities. Saint Nick said the parade just like Christmas makes everyone enthusiastic.
"It is a time to come together, the way we were meant to as a big family."
