Church serves a pre-Thanksgiving meal to those in need

WICHITA FALLS, TX (KAUZ) -

A Wichita Falls church invited the community over for an early turkey carving on Saturday.

The New Jerusalem Baptist Church, located near Hirschi High School, held their tenth annual pre-Thanksgiving community meal.

11 delicious birds were cooked and served for everyone to enjoy.

"It's just wonderful the ladies and brothers look forward to doing this and preparing food for our community," Pastor Angus Thompson said. "It is a wonderful and tangible way to give back to the community."

Any leftovers from the meal were sent to the Wichita Falls Faith Refuge.
