WICHITA FALLS, Tx (RNN Texoma) -

A Crime Stoppers tip led to the arrest of a murder suspect.

According to Sgt. Harold McClure around 1:15 p.m. officers were dispatched to the 1400 block of Gladioulous in reference to a subject with warrants.

When police arrived, Eric Glenn Lee II was found and taken into custody without incident.

The Wichita Falls Police Department has issued a capital murder warrant for Lee after a man was killed around 1 a.m. on Tuesday morning.

Lee is accused of shooting 28-year-old Matthew Liggins from Abilene in the 1000 block of Juarez Street. Liggins was rushed to United Regional where he was pronounced dead.

Officials said the victim and suspect were known to one another and they believe the suspect was attempting to rob the victim at the time of the shooting.

A friend of the victim, Amanda Hunter. spoke with News Channel 6. They said that Liggins was visiting Wichita Falls, but that his family did not know the reason for his visit. They are not sure how he would have known Lee.

Hunter who has known Lee since she was five said, "At first I was reading it and I was kind of thinking 'There has to be another Matthew Liggins. It can't be him. It's got to be someone else.' I know that his name is out here right now for tragic reasons. The main reason I'm talking to people is because I don't want him to be remembered for this tragedy. I want him to be remembered for his infectious laughter."

She has been speaking on behalf of Liggins family and asked that everyone respects their privacy at this time.
