WICHITA FALLS, Tx (RNN Texoma) -

As part of TXDOT's "Heads-up, Texas" campaign, A distracted driving virtual reality experience was held Friday at Midwestern State University.

Newly released data shows nearly nine out of ten Texans admit to texting and driving.

The goal of today's event was to educate students about laws and the dangers of distracted driving.

It was also part of the "It Can Wait Tour" which is going through 19 cities across Texas.
