Traffic stop leads to three arrests in Wichita Falls

WICHITA FALLS, Tx (RNN Texoma) - Three people are in jail following a late night traffic stop in the Falls.

Wichita Falls police say around 11 p.m. Tuesday night, the Gang Task Force Unit and the Tactical Unit stopped a Nissan Maxima in the 1900 block of Hines Boulevard for running a stop sign.

Sergeant Maloney, with the Gang Task Force Unit, says officers performed a search of the vehicle after they spotted drug paraphernalia in the car.

During the search, they found three pistols and marijuana.

The driver, Deonta Demarcus Roberts, 29, who's also a convicted felon, is facing charges for Theft of a Firearm and three counts of Unlawful Possession of a Firearm by a Felon.

One of the passengers, Shatina Votika Gilliam, 26, is being charged with Failure to Identify, Possession of Marijuana, and three counts of Possession of a Dangerous Drug.

The other passenger, Kendall Leray Humphrey, 18, is charged with Possession of Marijuana.

Police say they're also suspected in a drive-by shooting that happened just before 5 p.m. Tuesday afternoon in the 1600 block of Pearl Avenue.
