NOCONA, TX(RNN Texoma) - Our Hometown Pride Tour has taken us to the Nokona Ball Glove Factory.
They have finally settled into their new home after moving around the past ten years.
Last week, Highway signs started going up, advertising their new location.
Vice President of Nokona, Rob Storey, said that even without the signs, they've had around 500 people stop to see the factory. He expects that number to go up.
Business is going well too as they just finished an order for the Houston Astros.
"We've always had a long-term relationship with Nolan Ryan since his first glove was a Nokona back in the 50s. At the end of Spring Training, we presented gloves to Nolan, his son Reed, the manager A.J. Hinch, and two of the owners of the Astros just to commemorate their big win last season. They were very well accepted and now they've ordered more for the players," Storey said.
The grand opening will be in the third week of May and they plan to have the museum finished in time.
You can tour the factory on Monday's and Friday's and during the summer on Monday's, Wednesdays and Friday's.
