Gas prices up 39 cents from a year ago

TEXAS (KAUZ) - According to AAA Texas, the statewide gas price average for a gallon of regular gas in Texas is now $2.60.

The price is two cents more than last week and 39 cents more per gallon compared to this day a year ago.

Of the major areas in Texas, drivers in Midland and El Paso are paying the most on average at $2.84 while those in San Antonio and Texarkana are paying the least at $2.51 a gallon.

According to Gasbuddy, the cheapest price in Wichita Falls is at Sam's Club on Lawrence and Kell where the price is currently $2.43.

The national average is now $2.82. That is three cents more than last week and 45 cents more than the price last year.
