Gas prices continue to climb

TEXAS (KAUZ) - The average price for a gallon of regular unleaded gas in the state of Texas is now $2.63, according to AAA Texas.

The price is up three cents from last week and is 45 cents more than this time last year.

In Wichita Falls, the price is also up three cents a gallon to an average of $2.57. According to Gasbuddy, the lowest price is at the Sam's Club at Kell East and Lawrence Road and it is $2.46 a gallon.

Of the major metropolitan areas in the state, drivers in El Paso are paying the most on average at $2.95. Drivers in San Antonio and Sherman/Denison are paying the least on average at $2.53.

The national average price for a gallon of regular unleaded is now $2.84 which is two cents more than last week and 50 cents more than this time last year.
