WICHITA FALLS, Tx (RNN Texoma) - Hundreds spent the day walking to raise money for The Center in Wichita Falls and Vernon during the 18th annual Walk for Life.
The non-profit helps women, children and expectant fathers by offering free services like pregnancy testing, STI testing and treatments and prenatal classes
More than 350 people took on the Circle Trail at Lucy Park, others were walking in Vernon and there were even some international participants.
"We ran out of t-shirts and had to order more," Vonetta Ferguson The Center director said. "We have a team this year that's so excited that they even have a team from Queen of Peace walking in Israel while we were walking."
Last year's event raised $45,000 and Ferguson said she's confident they'll raise even more this year. Some of that donation money was used to buy a new sonogram machine which expectant mothers can use for free.
