WICHITA FALLS, Tx (RNN Texoma) -

A Wichita Falls woman was booked into the county jail early Thursday morning following a call to police about a hit and run.

Around 1:24 a.m. officers were dispatched to the 4200 block of Emerson Street. When police arrived at the scene, they could see a pickup truck parked legally on the street with extensive damage to the rear.

On the ground behind the damaged truck was the front bumper of the suspect vehicle with the license plate still attached. A neighbor spoke with police and showed them surveillance footage from his home of the incident.

The neighbor told officers he believed the suspect had been coming over to his home to tamper with his property. In the surveillance footage, officers could see the suspect vehicle pull onto the street without its lights on and stop in front of the neighbor's yard for 15 to 20 seconds.

The vehicle then took off, with its lights still off, and collided with the pickup truck before fleeing the scene. A record check of the license plate led them to a home in 4600 block of El Capitan.

Carly Jean Mason, 25, told officers she was the driver and only person in the vehicle. Mason said she was scared which is why she fled the scene. Officers observed a large cut on Mason's lip that was possibly from the accident.

Mason was arrested and booked into the Wichita County Jail for duty on striking unattended vehicle after being taken to the hospital to be checked out.
