WICHITA FALLS, Tx (RNN Texoma) -

Officials with Overland Property Group, LLC announced on Friday renovations on the old Maskat Shrine building on Lamar would begin next week.

The building is being restored into an affordable senior living apartment building.

Overland Property Group, LLC closed on the financing of the project on Thursday.

"We couldn't be more excited to get started on what we believe will be a future award-winning historical renovation. And we have you all to thank for this opportunity," Brett Johnson with Overland Property Group, LLC said in a press release.

It's been vacant for years but will undergo a $6 million renovation and be re-purposed into 28 senior affordable living units and a small retail store.
