WICHITA FALLS, Tx (RNN Texoma) - Some kids had the chance to learn from a professional chef Friday.
The WFISD hosted Chartwell Executive Chef Paul Scottile at the Career Education Center.
He taught kids about flavor profiles, colors, textures, and nutritional values.
"If we can get kids eating well early on, they're going to be more inclined to try a lot of healthier ingredients, they're gonna be more excited about food, they're going to want to participate more at the cafeterias, they're going to be excited to come in and see what our offerings are," Scottile said. "The more we can expose them to different ingredients, the more inclined they are to eat it when we put it on the menus."
Scottile also worked to introduce the participants to the many career options that exist in the culinary industry.
