A severe thunderstorm watch is now in effect for areas along and west of I-44. This includes all of Wichita County, Lawton, Altus, Quanah, Vernon, and Crowell. Hail and strong winds will be the threats first as storms develop in our western counties. A low tornado threat is also there. By this evening, storms could start to push east and form into a line. Threats would then shift to strong, damaging winds, small hail, and a low tornado threat. Flash flooding could become an issue overnight as more storms move through.
